Carla and Sean :: Austin, Texas Wedding Photographer

Carla and Sean’s French and Marie Antoinette-themed affair was ALL about the details. Every inch of this beautiful event was draped in pail pink and light blue with gold and pearl accents. Every centerpiece was unique and chock-full of items that had been collected throughout the couple’s engagement. Sean, an Army Captain, beamed when he saw his bride coming down the aisle in her stunning gown that was covered from top to bottom with tiny floral appliques. After a heartfelt ceremony rich with tradition and love from their friends and family, Carla and Sean’s guest enjoyed the most amazing dessert and hot chocolate bar I’ve ever seen – macaroons, cake, chocolate, custard and cookies galore! Yum! After plenty of dancing and even an impromptu hip hop performance by the groom, the lovebirds were swept away in a beautiful vintage auto. Carla’s keen sense of style and both of their kind hearts showed through in all aspects of this intimate and personal evening.

I met Brittany and Michael over at SMU (where they met and fell in love!) for a quick mini-session a couple weeks ago. Brittany looked beautiful and Michael knew just how to make her laugh. We had a great time walking around SMU, and even though it was super chilly, windy and overcast, these two didn’t skip a beat. I loved their sweet interactions – they were such naturals in front of the camera. Here are some of my favorite shots!

Blake and Melanie celebrated their nuptials with two days of events – both equally unique and beautiful. Friday started with an intimate ceremony with close family and friends in the backyard of a family home. The scene was set with a bridge cascading over a creek on the property, horses, lots of mason jars, beautiful flowers put together by friends and family, tree lights, fajitas, heartfelt speeches and lots of love. Saturday followed with a fun, laid back reception at a ranch house in The Colony (just outside of Dallas). Yellow florals accented the tables alongside candles, mirror glass, bottles, succulents and more of those beautiful jars jars. And, don’t forget about those amazing cakes, real deal Dr. Pepper bottles, live music and dancing the night away. This was one of those weddings filled with so much love as the couple was surrounded with dear friends and family. Congratulations, Blake and Melanie!

The Cream Event, Austin :: Recap

Holy moly – we had such a blast at The Cream Event in Austin this weekend! On Sunday, Lauren (Blue Eye Brown Eye) and I hopped down 35 South headed to Austin for this event, so excited to get inspired by some of the most talented vendors in the industry. We sampled delicious goodies from several Austin vendors, sipped on handmade cocktails, took in the sites and danced the night away (literally – we won the dance off!). Shark Pig was on site to capture it all on video (not looking forward to seeing my robot moves on film!), The Flashdance DJ was spinning the hits and we finally got to see the amazing BHLDN pieces in person – stunning. Here are some highlights from The Cream Event in Austin.

This is one of my favorite recent sessions for a couple of reason. {1} Do you just die for those adorable kids? Because I do. Not only were these kids all smiles, so sweet and so much fun to be with. But, they adored each other which made it so fun to photograph! {2} I love the extended families in photo sessions. To be able to see the generations of a happy family all in one place AND to be able photograph that is to fun. {3} How cute is everybody? So much love. I couldn’t stop smiling the whole time. We shot these at the Las Colinas Canals. I hadn’t photographed here in a long time, but was quickly reminded of all there is to work with.
